What is 1 -Trac?

- 1 -Trac is a system of model train layout modules.

- You can build our 16"x16" base module to run a train in the smallest spaces.

- The system also allows multiple modules of different sizes to connect to each other for infinite combinations that are only limited by your imagination.

- The system will officially go on sale September 12 at an event at Cradle of Aviation Museum (Nassau County, NY).

Who, What, Why: 1 -Trac ?

  • Who:

    • If you don't have room for a permanent layout, 1 -Trac modules are easy to build, easy to set up, easy to run, easy to knock down and easy to store.
    • If you're just starting out in model railroading 1 -Trac modules give you a bite-size layout to learn how everything fits together.
    • If you have limited budget you can start and complete a module at a time and join them together.

  • What:

    • 1 -Trac is fully compatible with T-Trak, and Kato Mini-Diorama module standards.
    • 1 -Trac modules are best suited for Kato's N-gauge Unitrack system.
    • The 1 -Trac system can also run other N-gauge track systems, HOn30 (1:87 narrow gauge that runs on the same N-track Unitrack, Z, HO and HOn30 (1:43 O-scale narrow gauge).

  • Why:

    • 1 -Trac is designed to work at home, with sizes and features to match.
    • Unlike other systems, there are no "standards" -- there are, instead, "recommendations": these are things we found to work well.
    • You are free to change anything you want - each module is built by you for you.
    • It's your layout, build it how *you* want it.

  • Sizes:

    1-Track module sizes:

    • 400x400mm (16"x16")
    • 200x400mm (8"x16")
    • 125x400mm (5"x16")
    • 125x200mm (5"x8")
    • 60x400mm (2"x16")
    • 60x200mm (2"x8")
    • Mini-Straight fits 1 length of 186mm straight Unitrack.
    • Mini-Curve fits 1 length of curved Unitrack.

  • Height:

    All 1-Trac modules come in 3 heights:

    • 25mm (1") to connect to Kato's Mini-Diorama modules.
    • 70mm (adjustable to 100mm) - (2.5" adjustable to 4") T-Trak standard height.
    • 45mm riser: lets 25mm modules raise up to connect to T-Trak.
